Bermuda Four-Ball Championship Playoffs Decide Titles at Port Royal

The final round of the Bermuda 4-Ball Championship concluded on Sunday, February 22nd at Port Royal Golf Course in more benign conditions.

In the Men’s Division, the chasing team of Jevon Roberts and Oliver Betschart shot an impressive five under par score of 66 to overtake the first-round leaders Spencer Wideman and Derrick Irby. Wideman and Irby placed second holding off Jarryd Dillas and Damian Palanyandi.

The Senior Men’s Division provided an exciting finish, as Sheldon Chychrun and George Hutchings were deadlocked with retired athletes Mark Ray and Kyle Lightbourne after regulation play. Following a one-hole playoff, Chychrun and Hutchings claimed the title competing against Mark Ray. Lightbourne was unavailable for the playoff due to football touchline commitments.

In the Ladies’ Championship Division, the title was decided in a three-team playoff. Rising golfer Darina Betschart posted a one-over-par 72, the lowest score of the day in the Ladies’ Division, bringing her team level with overnight leaders Tracy Nash and Carine Brule, and the defending champions Ann Symonds and Tracy Burgess. After a three-hole playoff, Symonds and Burgess secured the win – claiming their third consecutive title.
