The Bermuda Golf Association held its monthly medal on Saturday, January 10th at the scenic Tucker’s Point Club. The tournament was played in overcast conditions with a slight South Easterly breeze. Oliver Betschart, fresh off his impressive performance at the Orange Bowl, topped the leaderboard in the Men’s Division with a 1 under par 69. Fellow junior, Arman Newton, took second place honors on his home course with a 1 over par 71. Veteran Jarryd Dillas rounded out the top 3 on retrogression over another junior, Johnny Bart and another veteran in Roger Brangman.
In the Senior Men’s Division, the seasoned Hav Trott held off multi-talented sportsmen, Kyle Lightbourne and Mark (Beaver) Ray by 1 stroke. Trott recorded an impression 2 over par 73 with Lightbourne and Ray finishing on 74. Lightbourne’s round included a Hole-in-One on the 168-yard par 3 4th hole.
The Ladies Division was led by the ever-consistent Tracy Burgess as she finished with a 4 over par 74. Morgan Lightbourne took second place and junior Darina Betschart rounded out the top three.
Damien Moniz took Junior Division honors with a round of 85 with Bradford Laing finishing second on 88.
Closest to Pin winners: Ladies – Tracy Burgess (hole #2), Men’s – Richard Marriott (hole #11), Senior Men’s – Kyle Lightbourne (hole-in-one #4) and Juniors – Bradford Laing (hole #14).
