BGA March Monthly Medal

The Bermuda Golf Association held its monthly medal on Saturday, March 21st at the historic Ocean View Golf Course.  The tournament was played in overcast conditions with a good Northeasterly breeze.  Jonathan James topped the leaderboard in the Men’s Division with a 3 over par 73.  Damian Palanyandi took second place honors with a 4 over par 74.  Cornell Bean Jr and Roger Brangman rounded out the top 3 tied at 5 over par 75.

In the Senior Men’s Division, veteran Arthur Jones turned in the low round of the day with an impressive 1 under par 69.  Mark (Beaver) Ray was second with a 3 over par 73 with Geoff Piggott taking the 3rd spot.

Once again, the Ladies Division was led by the ever-consistent Tracy Burgess as she finished with a 3 over par 73.  Morgan Lightbourne took second place and veteran Katrin Burnie rounded out the top three.

Lewis MacFarlane took Junior White Division honors with a sizzling round of 72.  Joshua Cann captured the Junior Red Division.

Closest to Pin winners: Ladies – Tracy Burgess (hole #7), Men’s – Michael Daniel (hole #18), Senior Men’s – Simon Benedek #9) and Juniors – Joshua Cann (hole #16).
