The Bermuda Golf Junior Program is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of golfers on the island, providing a structured pathway for their development from grassroots to collegiate level. Rooted in the principles of the Operation 36 program, our initiative emphasizes skill progression and holistic player development, while also integrating best practices from Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) models.
Aligned with best practices in Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD), our program emphasizes a holistic approach to player development, taking into account the physical, mental, technical, and tactical aspects of the game. By incorporating periodization, skill acquisition, and competition planning, we ensure that each player follows a tailored pathway that maximizes their potential and long-term success in golf. As part of our vision prepare the young people of today so they can be positive contributors to our society tomorrow.
Grassroots: At the heart of our program lies a commitment to grassroots development, where young players are introduced to the fundamentals of golf in a fun and engaging environment. Through introductory clinics, Operation 36, camps and junior leagues, we aim to ignite a passion for the game and instill core values such as integrity, perseverance, and respect.
Operation 36 promotes lifelong skills and introduction to golf: Central to our curriculum is the Operation 36 program, which provides a structured framework for lifelong skill development and progression. Utilizing age-appropriate challenges and benchmarks, we focus on mastering fundamental skills such as putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing, while also incorporating distance-based goals tailored to each player’s age and ability level.

Birth to Podium
As the Governing Body for golf in Bermuda, Bermuda Golf was part of an extensive consultation process as mandated for all NSGBs by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. This process involved attending in person workshops and online content hosted by Sport for Life from Canada. As part of the consultation process Bermuda Golf invited members of the BPGA to attend learning sessions to better understand the process and principles of LTAD.
As part of the process Bermuda Golf adapted the principles of LTAD to create a working document outlining seven development phases that can be seen in the document entitled “Birth to Podium.”
