Bermuda’s junior golf team has concluded its campaign at the North America Cup in Aurora, Canada, finishing in a respectable third place after three days of spirited international match play.
The eight-player Bermudian team, consisted of Arman Newton, Lachlan Soutter, Cole Graham, Fletcher Logie, Isaac Davis, Camilo Legere, Lewis MacFarlane and Darina Betschart. The team was accompanied by BGA president, Craig Brown and manager Tamara Betschart.
In the final tournament standings, Team Mexico was crowned champions, leading the way with a total of 55 points. Team Canada finished in second with 22.5 points, while Team Bermuda held on to third place with a final total of 21.5 points. The tournament was an invaluable experience for the young Bermudians, who demonstrated their potential against strong regional opposition.
Team Bermuda manager Tamara Betschart stated “It was such a privilege to be with this team. The players made it easy and their team spirit was incredible. I’m so proud of all of them, not just for how they played, but for their behavior on and off the course. They truly made it fun for everyone, including our Canadian guest players. New friendships have been built, and I’m sure everyone will carry fond memories of this tournament. I’m grateful for all the support and preparation that went into making this trip possible.”
